When painting or drawing I am fully focused in the moment, trying to capture the essence of a place or the light on objects, such as flowers in a jam jar. The subject is constantly changing as the light changes, bringing out new colour's and forms, resulting in something that takes on it's own atmosphere and character. I see beauty everywhere around me in nature - in the bare branches of the winter landscape, abandoned apples in the orchard, fading seed heads, collections of found objects from a beech. Taking time to really look and then capture what is in front of me is such a pleasure and I am happy that I can share this with others.
