Biddy Hodgkinson

when the levee breaks - Hodgkinsons work is made by using veg/flowers-organic materials she is obsessed with lack of culture of death in the Western World and its perpetual obsession with anti-ageing - she brings our attention to the beauty of decay and the inevitability of our mortality

Hodgkinson will be showing a collection of available works in her personal style, she specialises in alchemical art - her subject being the beauty of ageing decay - she is constantly fascinated by the endless metamorphic process - for her the beauty and luminosity exists in the decay, not just the ripeness of youth. Hodgkinson studied at Stamford and then UAL Chelsea (BA Hons) Fine Art - she is on leave from her MA in Social Anthropology (SOAS) - but continually absorbed. Her work is in public and private collections. During Artweeks some fabric products based on her works are available (cushions and bags) - and smaller works for the smaller budgets -
