Artist information

I am doing patchwork and quilting for many years. I’ve started as self-taught quilter. Then I did many courses and workshops to improve my technique and meet like-minded people. Before the pandemic I was a member of 2 patchwork groups in Oxfordshire. I don’t use somebody’s patterns for my works, but I’ve got a big library of patchwork books and journals for inspiration. I am working in modern and classic patchwork and quilting style. Most of my works made on a sewing machine, but I like hand-sewing for its therapeutic effect.

Exhibition information

This is my first exhibition. For this exhibition I’ve made everything of African style cotton fabrics.

These fabrics display rich variety of dynamic patterns and vibrant colours which are eye-catching and attractive. Their designs reflect both modern influences and historical references.

I’d like to show wall hangings and smaller creations for everyday life (like table runners, pot holders, cushion covers, glass cases, bags and boxes). Patterns are unique and mine. All my items are for sale.

I’d like more people to be doing and enjoying this craft. That is why I’ve prepared for sale different pre-cut African fabrics (charm packs, pannels) and I will be doing demonstrations at the Venue during the Art Weeks.
