Artist information

I have taken part in Oxfordshire Artweeks most years for twenty years and have also had a few solo exhibitions , most recently Aug/ Sept 2025 ‘Song of the wild’ for Oriel Mon on Anglesey , ‘ Wildsong’ at the North wall, Oxford and ‘ A love of the Land’ at West Oxfordshire Arts, Bampton. At present I have work exhibited at Wales Contemporary and often exhibit at the Mall Galleries for the Royal Society of British Artists and three times for the IngDiscerning Eye where I won the welsh regional prize ..

I am fortunate to have a lovely studio in the small village next to the river Thames, Little Wittenham – the river has definitely been inspiring my work in the last few months ..and I am working on a body of work about the Thames to be shown in the near future and also on the countryside around Machynlleth for an exhibition at MOMA in Wales this December .

Exhibition information

I am a walker, painter and photographer and am inspired by the natural world. It sounds rather cliched but it is entirely true..my spirituality, creativity, happiness, intellectual curiosity emanates from being in the natural landscape. This makes me very easy to please and if I were to sit beside the river or in a wood for a month, I would be content! I like to sketch in situ and also paint en plein air . I prefer to work in oils with big brushes and rags and work spontaneously often on a large scale .
