Artist information

I just love using watercolour paints to capture what I see in my mind’s eye! It’s a medium that tests me – teases me – to endlessly explore how each colour uniquely interacts with the paper, with water, with another colour. I am inspired by the challenge of expressing the “snapshots” in my mind through the use of colour and light. My aim is to capture the essence of the subject, creating a painting that tickles the senses and wakens memories – or dreams.

Born and raised in Zimbabwe and having lived and travelled across the globe, my subject matter is diverse, from African wildlife to English street scenes, and everything in between. A fair proportion of my work is commissioned so if you want a picture painted – I can paint it.

I work in my studio in the countryside and exhibit at local shows throughout the year. I also teach at an art group, where I enthusiastically pass on my passion and my learning.

This is my first exhibition under the banner of OAW and I am looking forward to meeting you. I am sharing a beautiful space, Busby K Studio and Gallery, where I am joined by local artists exhibiting wonderful original paintings using various mediums, all inspired from the surrounding AONB. This theme runs through sculptural works in clay, textiles, and jewellery in silver, gold plate, enamel and glass being shown alongside the paintings. This exhibition really offers something of interest to everyone.

Busby K Studio and Gallery is part of Timbers Farm and is easily accessed directly off Timbers Lane, Nuffield with ample free parking. Open to the public by prior appointment outside regional artweeks. Refreshments will be available.
