Exhibition information

I have a passion and yearning for the sea, open wild spaces and big skies. My inspiration comes from a love of the sea, sky and the natural world around us. In particular I have a love for the Cornish Coast, a place that resonates with me because of frequent trips to Fowey in Cornwall. My art is mainly abstract using acrylics, watercolour and texture. I seek to explore light as something momentarily suspended within the movement of the ocean. I paint instinctively and intuitively. I paint from my emotions, and how how a piece makes me feel is the most important factor for me.

Artist information

Hello and thank you for taking the time to find out more about me, my art and what inspires it. I’ve lived in Oxfordshire for most of my life. I grew up in Radley and now live in a hamlet just outside Abingdon. I’m a wife, mum, daughter and now a grandma. I only started painting a few years ago, quite by accident, and realised very quickly how much I loved it. I’m mainly self taught, but being a member of local artist communities has been so useful in my art journey. I am a member of Abingdon Artists and West Ox Arts and exhibit with these groups a few times a year. I sell my art via local exhibitions, my website and Instagram. I also have pieces available at The Old Bank Gallery in Fowey, Cornwall and Dolphin Gallery in Wantage, Oxfordshire. If you would like to know more about my art, or see particular pieces, please do get in touch with me. Thank you. Trish
