Exhibition information
My initial source of inspiration is sparked by people, animals and flowers. My focus is to capture their essence with colour, imagination and expressive mark-making to produce fresh and vibrant work that suggests the essential character of the subject. Often the painting will evolve beyond the original subject, become partly abstracted and develop a life of its own.
I also like to paint from life whenever possible and have a strong grounding in portrait and figure drawing. The journey of my paintings also involves digital processes to explore possibilities and unexpected directions.
