I am very humbled and proud to be a part of this talented art group exhibiting in our ancient Church for Arts Week.
My work is a mixture of subjects, medium and sizes. I enjoy experimenting with colour and texture but realise I'm on an endless learning curve, there's so much more to try! During 'lock down' I challenged myself to produce a picture every day for a month but I accidentally ordered a black- paged sketch book, now that was a challenge!
Inspiration comes from our wonderful surrounding landscape, the Cumbrian hills and sea scapes. Joni Mitchell said that she had looked at clouds from both sides and just recently I think I have been doing the same as many of my pictures have some dark, brooding skies as well as fluffy happy clouds!
Inspiration of course can come from people and I am lucky to be involved with a great group of supportive, positive painters who meet most weeks at Chacombe village hall, some are here at the exhibition with me.
