My creative journey took an unexpected turn this year. After a significant elbow injury made my traditional large scale painting impossible, I found a new quieter rhythm in the precision of fine line ink work. What began as a physical necessity soon became a creative passion.
Working on a smaller more intimate scale has allowed me to explore a world of delicate detail and ethereal folklore. My current collection features atmospheric landscapes, secret portals, and botanical studies, each captured with fine black pens and accented with touches of gold and silver leaf to bring a sense of magic to the everyday.
Influenced by the natural textures of the Oxfordshire landscape and the timeless charm of storybook illustration, my work focuses on the balance between intricate linework and the stillness of negative space. I am very much looking forward to showing with the other Sutton Courtenay Abbey artists during Artweeks this year, and I invite you to step through a doorway into a slightly more magical world.
