Exhibition information
By profession I am a Landscape Architect/ Environmental Consultant. I have created my artwork alongside and in response to my profession and my garden. I have recently retired and now my love of art and gardening will be at the centre of my life.
The art that I create has strong links to my work within the natural and built environments. Landscapes, natural forms and found objects and how people interact with and respond to them are constantly recurring themes in my work. Walking, sketching and painting in nature forms a source of inspiration and a starting point. An interest in life drawing and abstraction has informed my figurative work and remains an enduring interest.
Over the last 17 years, as a member of the Oxford Printmakers Co-operative, I have explored the medium of printmaking from lino cuts, dry-points, colorgraphs, lithographs, screen prints, Japanese woodblock and mono prints, often combining processes to achieve unpredictable outcomes.
Recently I have focused on collage using mono-printed images which gives me maximum flexibility to create individual and varied images.
