Exhibition information

This year I have focused primarily on interpreting the landscape in a more abstract way and have made 24 new works like this. Finding something to inspire me to get started with abstracts isn’t difficult, I’ve become used to wandering along the footpaths where I live, just slowing down and noticing more, the small thing’s – the twisted tree struggling to get to the light, the flow of the stream as it disappears in the woods, the birdsong and how the light alters everything. If I have the means I’ll do a scribble or more often take a photo. But the memory is there, it may not be precise but there’s usually enough to want to pick up a brush in the studio and get going. They don’t always work out so I’ll paint over or scrape off but I’m on my way!
All this doesn’t mean I’ve neglected the figurative paintings which I love to do especially outdoors, en plain air and there is a large new selection of this work too

I’ve been busy! Hope you enjoy it. If you’d like to buy one I accept most credit cards and may consider accepting payment in three instalments
Best wishes
