Morna has been a member of the Oxford Printmakers for over 30 years where she works with copper and the etching process.

Being a printmaker has enabled her to share the amazing world she sees and draws, when walking in Welsh Mountains, Cornish Coast Paths or on Portmeadow in Oxford. Spending time drawing on mountains or by water allows her to absorb the atmosphere of the place, see much more with her own eyes rather than through the cameras lens, and care about the image that she creates. She often uses two or more plates to add colour contrasts and enhance the shadows.

The etching process has given her a structure, a way of using her drawings and paintings to create something exciting and new.

Exhibition information

Morna will be showing New and older work with a mixture of framed and unframed etchings and cards.Trees and flower forms are an inspiration, and her exhibition space is surrounded on 2 sides by flowering trees and plants. She is exhibiting with fellow painter/printmaker Andrea Hewes

Artist information

Morna has been making etching at the Oxford Printmakers Co operative for over 30 years.

She has a Fine Art/ Sculpture training(St Martins, London)so working on copper from drawings made on site allows her to use her 3 dimensional vision. She hopes to lead the viewer into the forms within the images she creates.
