Pegg Furniture helps people to be home anywhere - it is portable, sustainable, all-wood furniture made to last a lifetime. The innovative wooden joints are held together with pegs, making it simple to build and take apart over and over again. This contemporary take on one of wood-work’s oldest techniques, pegged joinery, creates furniture that helps cut the stress of moving home and makes it a joy to adapt small spaces to changing needs. For example, Pegg Desk has legs that unpeg easily and store neatly inside the desktop - making it easy to turn the home office into a guest room on Friday, and then back to an office in time for the first Zoom on Monday.
Pegg has been founded by Michael Buick and grew from his design studies at Rycotewood Furniture (BA Hons accredited by Oxford Brookes University). Pegg launched its first product weeks before the pandemic but has grown against the odds, with a committed set of early customers and growing recognition - including being shortlisted in the 2021 Dezeen Awards. Pegg’s mission is to promote sustainable wood (and the woodlands it is harvested from), support meaningful work and challenge a fast-furniture culture that sends millions of tonnes of broken beds and wasted wardrobes to landfill each year.
