Exhibition information
I find my inspiration in ancient woodlands and folk stories and I am interested in colour, shape and repetitive patterns in nature. I like to create a boundary between abstraction, using a kaleidoscopic palette, and figurativism in my landscapes, with subjects that are defiant but lost in the menacing environment.
Artist information
I was born in Galicia, a Celtic Region in Northern Spain, where I grew up surrounded by ancient woodland and stories of Meigas, Fairies and Mythical creatures. From an early age, I’ve dedicated my spare time to drawing and painting, inspired by the beauty of nature and the sinister folklore of my homeland. Alongside my family, I followed my father in a career that took him around most of Spain and then Maryland and Paris, before I settled in Madrid where I studied Civil Architecture and spent my post-university years working in construction. I moved to Oxford in 2010 and reconnected with my passion for art, nature and folklore which has driven and inspired my most recent works.
