Artist information
Maia believes the things we use and live with should spark joy both in their appearance and in our interactions with them. With playful elegance as the driving mantra behind her aesthetics, ergonomics and efficiency form the backbone of Maia’s functional items, while her decorative ware indulges more in textures, appendages, and forms that delight the eye.
Working mainly on the wheel, Maia also enjoys handbuilding, altering thrown pieces, and experimenting. She sells her work at markets and online, and teaches ceramics at local studios and colleges.
