Exhibition information

Liming Chen is an Oxford-based artist working across painting and contemporary jewellery. Her paintings are studies of plants, birds, and landscapes, exploring the emotional presence of nature. Alongside this, she creates contemporary jewellery by repurposing and upcycling Japanese kimono textiles and traditional shibori silk fabric. Her practice is rooted in sustainability and hand-making, transforming materials rich in history into modern forms while maintaining a dialogue between Eastern and Western aesthetics. Through both painting and jewellery, Liming’s work reflects a thoughtful, slow approach to making and a sensitivity to material, memory, and everyday beauty.
