Exhibition information

I work with ink lines (delivered by fountain pen, ink pen, and ballpoint pen) and watercolour washes on paper. I favour smaller formats for their convenience and mobility: as an avid urban life illustrator and sketcher, I begin most of my work on-site. The final touches are added in my studio, and each piece typically requires two to three separate sittings to complete. I love working outdoors and participating in temporary urban art events organized by groups such as Urban Sketchers and London Plein Air Painters.

Artist information

I am an Oxford-based visual artist fascinated by urban space. My realistic drawings and paintings—recognized in various painting competitions—depict the contemporary appearance of buildings and the spaces between them: the squares and streets where social life unfolds. I am particularly interested in the tensions created within urban structures by the clash between historical elements and new buildings and functions that define cities in the third decade of the 21st century.

I am a trained architect and urban planner. I have spent most of my life and career in Warsaw, Poland (Central Europe), and the UK, and I now live permanently in Oxford. In addition to drawing, I teach freehand sketching and professional drawing classes. I share my work on Instagram as @ploxonian.
