This year, most of the paintings I’m exhibiting are illustrations to a series of poems I’ve written called ‘Gifts from Students’ . They are (mostly) true anecdotes from my experience of teaching adults - and I really did get these presents, including a reconditioned car! Other people in all their variety, are my inspiration. I mostly do collage because I find it an easy way to approach composition AND because I like incorporating found objects.
You can see my work in three group exhibitions - Quaker Women Artists, South Oxford Arts, and OVADA
A long time ago I studied at Coventry Faculty of Art where I specialised in Textiles. There followed a long period of me not doing much of my own work, though I was involved in community arts. Since moving to Oxford, I’ve had more time to practice lots of different art forms. I also write and translate poetry and this often forms the basis of my visual arts work.
