My interest in Ceramics has spanned many years and I am now a member of the Old Forge Pottery in Eynsham. I work in Stoneware, hand building, using the wheel and decorating with underglazes , slips, glazes and oxides. I like original design, abstract animals with different forms. I also hand build more realistic models using a variety of techniques. There is so much to cover in Ceramics. To quote Chaucer, “The life is short, the craft so long to learn.” Clay goes through many processes and one is never sure how a finished piece will turn out but that’s the joy and frustration of working with clay.
