Joanne Lillywhite is a painter inspired by the local arable landscape and woodlands. She loves to paint scenes with strong lines and perspective that draw the viewer in to the location. As a colourist, she incorporates colours that aren’t there to enhance the scene and add drama and interest. Often working in acrylic, and sometimes pastel, she uses various techniques with interesting brushstrokes and mark-making. She wants the viewer to see new things in the paintings when they look up close. But she enjoys adding sufficient detail so the viewer knows what they are seeing and understands what she is trying to convey. Her paintings are unique and striking. Self taught, she continues to develop her artistic practice and is represented in local galleries, as well as taking on commissions for clients.
