Jen throws and handbuilds functional and decorative pieces in stoneware 

Artist information

After a couple of handbuilding evening classes Jen learnt to throw with Alison Holmans and has continued to develop skills at the Old Forge and the Drew School of Ceramics since. She experiments with different stoneware clays, and occasionally porcelain, using glazes, underglazes, oxides and engobes as decorative finishes. She sometimes throws with 2 different coloured clays, reshapes by cutting parts away or sgraffitos designs in. Trying to get darker clay to emerge from the kiln intact with a well-behaved glaze is her current challenge!
