Exhibition information

A collection of oil paintings, mostly landscapes of local scenes.

After making art in one form or other for most of my life, I laid down my paintbrush for almost 20 years to pursue a career in garden design.  In 2023 I was inspired to start painting again, this time in oils.  I focussed on local scenes seen every day, in different seasons and weather conditions.  For the first time I painted simply to please myself, with no tutor or client to impress.  Oil paint was a new medium for me, with its own unique properties, and my first intention was to explore and enjoy the process.

The paintings are on display at the Paper Boat café on Folly Bridge until the end of April 2026, before moving to the St John’s Arts Initiative as part of Oxford City Artweeks.

All the original framed paintings on show are for sale, and are also available as unframed colour inkjet prints.

Artist information

I came to Oxford to study at Oxford Brookes University and graduated with a degree in Visual Studies, then made a home and raised a family in South Oxford.  In the early 2000’s I took part in Oxford Artweeks, and had work displayed at the Discerning Eye exhibition in London & the Blue Gallery (Cowley Road).
