SYNCHRONICITY
Most of my work relies on associations of ideas or colliding images. And this happy synchronicity will always dictate which media I might use going from 2D to 3D and back.
In this group show, Synchronicity reflects the notion that all art allows for the possibility of improvisation, chance or accidental creation ie the artist discovers inspiration in a place they might never have thought to look initially . Take 6 artists and they will each respond to Synchronicity in their own way
A late focus into art, as well as a multicultural background has enabled me to retain an outsider’s viewpoint and a fresh approach. My work is usually driven by ideas and research - an upshot of my training as a journalist - with the choice of media, materials and processes very much dictated by the subject. I could use painting, just as I would sculpture, assemblage, drawing or photography. I have exhibited in group shows in Oxford, Didcot and Woodstock and have had a solo show at the Link Gallery at the John Radcliffe.
