HEATHER PHILP

Impressionist Art

Heather Philp is an accomplished impressionist oil painter known for her richly textured, emotionally resonant works. Born and raised in Australia and now based in the United Kingdom, Heather’s journey has been one of continual reinvention, shaped by her love for creativity, expression, and human connection. She now devotes herself full-time to her art practice.

Heather’s signature style is built around the use of palette knives to explore the theme of portals—doors, windows, and pathways that symbolize life’s transitions and possibilities. Her work invites viewers to reflect on the metaphorical doors in their own lives, sparking imagination, memory, and introspection. Through her paintings, Heather encourages a deeper engagement with personal journeys and untapped potential.

Before dedicating herself fully to painting, Heather pursued careers in both the performing arts and healthcare. She trained as a classical and contemporary dancer, worked in musical theatre, and later became a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Theatre. Her academic background is equally diverse, spanning Applied Science, Medical Emergency Care, Interior Design, and an MA Fine Art. A member of the Visual Artists Association, and the Falmouth University Alumni community, Heather’s work is exhibited internationally and held in private collections around the world.
