Exhibition information

I explore concepts of space and place through mixed media paintings. Influenced by numerous physical places and experiences, my paintings communicate a sense of mystery, of journeying to lands unknown and undiscovered, and of the inner spiritual landscape. Strongly influenced by the natural world, and with frequent references to both poetry and literature and sacred writings, my work is process-driven, developed through multiple layers, addition and subtraction. As such, my work is both experimental and exploratory; each painting is an unmapped journey.

Artist information

Following two design-related degrees, I worked as a graphic designer for over two decades before beginning painting professionally. I am auto didactic but draw on my experience and understanding of design and visual language. Originally from Coventry, I have made my home in Oxford for the last 19 years, where I paint from my garden studio.
