The artist at work

Exhibition information

I tend to photograph in urban areas, often with minimalist/abstract compositions. I am showing two series of images this year.

The first resemble charcoal sketches (created in-camera) and are in black and white, printed on textured paper to give them a more painterly feel.

This second series centres around graduations in both Oxford and Cambridge, taken from an outsiders’ perspective (the railings and other boundaries are often incorporated into the images to emphasise this). They are mostly minimalist.

Artist information

I am a self-taught photographer, focusing on the streets (people, scenes, inanimate objects) and architecture. I find photography a very mindful exercise.

In addition to building my own portfolio, I photograph families (see www.fvsphotography.co.uk) and teach photography to children at schools.
