Artist information

I was born and work in Oxford and started painting in 2021. I am painting mostly in gouache and acrylics, and my paintings feature landscapes, people, portraits and animals. I am a member of Oxfordshire Artweeks www.artweeks.org and exhibited for the first time in May 2024. I am also a member of West Oxfordshire Arts (WOA) www.westoxarts.com. You can find me exhibiting and selling my works in Oxfordshire, (Oxford, Summertown, Headington, and Bampton amongst other places) during the year. In May 2025 I will be exhibiting at the WOA Gallery in Bampton, Oxfordshire as part of Artweeks. I also have an exhibition at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC) in May/June 2025. In my spare time I and play piano and flute and sing. I am section leader in an acapella chorus called Harmony InSpires Oxford www.harmonyinspires.org. Dinah January 2025

Exhibition information

My paintings explore human relationships and the natural world, the interconnectedness of life. Each painting is a story told through colour and form. Colour is a fundamental aspect of my paintings, both a visual and emotional language. I draw inspiration from nature, music, people and places, their connections, interplay and harmony. I particularly enjoy painting landscapes including Oxford, Dorset, Cornwall, Provence, France and Tuscany, Italy. I also draw and paint portraits of children, adults and animals. My paintings are generally A2 size or smaller. I have started to experiment with more abstract themes and hope to develop this in the future. I also paint from my imagination, creating strange new worlds. My paintings are typically colourful and sometimes contain references to artists that I admire. Can you spot any of these and guess the artist! I feel that I am still developing my style and am excited to try new projects in the future. I was commissioned to do a portrait of a baby (in black and white), a book cover about the music festival in Aix, France and also pets and houses in 2021 to 2024. I sell my paintings and produce high quality prints and greetings cards. I am also available for commissions.
