Artist information
I have been fascinated by pottery ever since I was a small child and my mum took me to watch the local potter throwing pots on the wheel. Magic! However, I didn’t get the chance to try it myself until much later in life. I became hooked!
I am based in Duns Tew, a picturesque village in the heart of Oxfordshire. I work in stoneware and my aim is to produce pieces that are both useful and beautiful.
All the pots are hand-thrown on an antique Leach-type wooden kick-wheel, then dried, bisque-fired to 1000 degrees Celsius, glazed, and finally fired to around 1220 degrees Celsius. The high firing temperature makes the ware very tough and durable.
