I have borrowed the ancient technique of Botancial Printing from the Textiles, and applied it to ceramic surfaces with noteworthy success.
It involves securing foliage to the surface of the pot. I have used thin strips of old bed sheeting. The whole pot is then submerged in water and boiled for about 2 hours. After which the pot is removed and unwrapped, revealing the coloured impressions left by the leaves or petals.
Not all foliage is suitable, but there are differences between the textile and ceramic experience so I am experimenting to determine the best foliage and ceramic give the best effects.
