Artist information

Candise Wai is an Oxfordshire-based contemporary abstract artist originally from Hong Kong. Her practice investigates the expressive potential of colour, gesture, and emotional resonance. Connected to art since childhood, she developed her artistic language over decades of private practice while building a successful international career in market research. She began presenting her work publicly in 2025.

Wai’s emerging trajectory has gained rapid international recognition, with exhibitions in London & Athens (2025), London, Paris, Milan, Brighton, New York, Osaka, Madrid, and Oxford (2026). Her work has been selected for juried exhibitions, featured in international art publications, received multiple awards, and presented on large-scale digital billboards during Tokyo Art Week, Art Cologne and Affordable Art Fair London.

Working within abstract expressionism, Wai employs layered gestures, dynamic contrasts, and quiet tonal subtleties to explore themes of resilience, transformation, and inner stillness. Her practice reflects a longstanding private dedication now evolving into a focused and confident professional career.
