Exhibition information

My art practice is influenced by having coordinated and participated in international artists workshops in UK, India and a number of countries in Africa which focused on process not product. This has led me to experiment with different media from acrylic, mixed media to ink or cyanotypes (early photographic sun prints with a distinctive Prussian blue image) & I am particularly drawn to creating mixed media collages.  My work is intuitive and organic, usually textured & sometimes decorative, taking inspiration from nature, objects or photographs. I am interested in the shapes & flowing lines of landscapes or objects, experimenting with tone and colour.

My recent work has is at times been inspired by Van Gogh and Klimt as well as contemporary artists Nicky Basford, Joy Gregory, Frances Richardson, Jacob Jari and El Anatsui.

Artist information

Since I was a child, I have enjoyed drawing, painting and making; from the age of 7 I used to press flowers and leaves with my grandmother and then make cards together.  This early love of making has developed into creating collages with an expanding range of media. Similarly, the flower pressing has evolved into arranging plants and flowers on cyanotype paper under glass and leaving the sun to then work it’s magic. My previous work with international artists has inspired me to experiment and enjoy the process of making art.

I live in South Oxford and co-cordinate a programme for unaccompanied asylum seeking children in Oxfordshire.
