For this year due to timings and other commitments just not working and being too late to join another group i wont be physically exhibiting on the artweeks trail but I will be exhibiting in April and visiting some fellow artists at their events :)
Jo Aka Stroke of a brush had an interesting path into art, where she discovered she could paint during neuro rehab following brain injury. This helped her regain use of her affected arm and rebuild confidence and express herself at a time of great difficulty. She is mainly an impressionistic artist whose heart lies with the skies. Painting a range of land and seascapes as well as dabbling in realism occasionally, her work aims to capture the viewer with the evocative emotion featured within. Following a life changing experience that felt devastating overnight the gift it gave her was utterly remarkable. She couldn't paint before and with vision affected and with no depth perception she uses the intense way she sees colour now to create her scenes of her memories and feelings, giving her the power to communicate through her art. 2022 finalist of SAA Artist of the Year, 2022 Longlisted finalist of Chaiya Art Awards and featured in British Vogue Magazine November 2022. Currently through to the final round of the Ironstone Prize. www.strokeofabrush.co.uk @stroke_ofabrush
