I will be showing 3 works, landscapes of Sandford Lock in early Autumn, in the South Oxford Community Centre Xmas ArtWeeks show, in November - December. All for sale.
I had to give up my studio in January so as a response, I'm painting the view from my front windows at home in OX4, using mixed media. My next project is finding a way to paint & draw the potholes, which are now everywhere around us in Oxford. Outside my window I see a constant battle for space; beyond the window boxes coming back to life in Spring; it's all about cars and bins.
I have been painting all my life but semi-retired as a journalist in 2015 to paint full-time. I still write reviews for The Jackdaw, an independent art magazine, and the Salisbury Review. This year I've a painting in the Society of Women Artists (SWA) at the Mall Gallery, London, opening in June. In February I was shortlisted for the BP Portrait Award by the National Portrait Gallery. I have appeared in the RA Summer Show in 2000 and 2012 and was short-listed with two paintings in 2023. I've also exhibited with the New English Art Club & The Discerning Eye at the Mall Gallery.
