This is the second year that I am exhibiting at ' The Earth Trust', Close to the Wittenham Clumps, as part of a group exhibition.
I particularly wanted to exhibit here because the trust promotes stewardship of the landscape and appreciation of the natural world, which is what I am all about also.
My artwork reflects the many walks I enjoy through our local landscape, usually with my inquisitive dog, Oli. I live on the Chilterns and enjoy the many country lanes that lead me through to views and ever changing skies. I try to capture some of the emotion I feel about these places - this might be the weather, such as warmth or wind, or the feeling of enclosure and security, or the drama of a large expansive panorama. Sometimes my attention is caught by the detail in the hedgerows, which shelter so much life, both animal and floral.
I use whatever materials best capture the subject, which range from oil paint, oil pastel, soft pastel and ink, often in combination.
