A selection of art from Korea.

Oxfordshire Artweeks is attracting visitors from as far afield as Korea.

Ten art enthusiasts and social entrepreneurs are visiting the county to discover how Artweeks runs so they can model their own Open Studios event on the successful Oxfordshire festival and support the thriving artistic community in Seoul, Korea.

The delegation is led by Rev Kyong Yong Song, Chair person of the Committee for Community Regeneration and Support Centre for Social Enterprises in Seongbuk, a district of Seoul, and consultant to the regional Mayor. It also includes Mr Un-Seong Kim, Executive Director of Se-Jong Arts Centre in Seoul and Professor Ahn, Executive Director of the new Gangwon -Do Bienalle in Northern Korea who are interested in setting up an exchange programme.

The group will be met by Esther Browning, Festival Director, and are looking forward to choosing and touring a selection of Artweeks venues.

In honour of this visit, a small selection of contemporary Korean art is currently on display in The Jam Factory, Oxford alongside an Oxford Artists’ Open Exhibition.
