later in the year if all is well I am hoping to be at Cogges Christmas market and st Helen and st Catherine school craft fair and Summertown farmers market.
My jewellery making began initially because I was bored of mass production so I wanted to make something different for myself. Other people began to show an interest and started to ask for commissions.
I mainly worked with gems and threading and beading but this wasn't enough so I decided I wanted to branch out more and get into working with silver
.I then joined JASSO jewellery and silversmiths Oxford where I began working in silver, I had got the bug and decided to go to study jewellery making in Italy for a course at a school in Florence for 8 months, Metallo Nobile,
It was an amazing experience living and learning in the center of Florence surrounded by Artisans and inspiration.
Back In England I continued to Study and attended Courses at Holts Academy of jewellery London
for jewellery manufacture and CAD design,
I continue to go to go JASSO and work from home in my studio working on new collections and commissions, I also teach from Abingdon and Witney college and have private students in my workshop from home. I love to help give other people a passion for this craft.
my jewellery is largely inspired from pretty much anything Indian, i love the architecture and will take details from motifs or arabesques in islamic art as well as from nature. I also love anything Tudor and this has also been an inspiration for me.
Of late I have been working on an Ancient Japanese technique called Nunome Zogan , meaning weave inlay , I don't want to bore people here about it too much but you can find examples and all about the technique on my website found above.
please use the contact email at my website and i will be in touch for sale and tuition inquiries. :)
