Weather permitting, I have decided to have a front garden drive-by /drop-in sale from 5-7pm on Saturday and Sunday the 27th and 28th of June. Jane Hainsworth, jeweller, will be doing the same in her front garden next door. Both of us had a full display of work for Artweeks and couldn't resist making even more pieces during our Covid lockdown, so there will be a great selection to view. Hand sanitiser and social distancing will be in operation.
I started doing pottery seriously after retiring early from teaching. I love being part of the ancient craft of making useful pots. My pieces are thrown on the wheel using stoneware clay which is very durable and lends itself to the subtle colour palate I prefer. I do my potting at my home so even though Artweeks won't be happening as planned, all the pots that I had ready for the event will be here for any visitors who might want to come along when the restrictions are removed. Just give me a ring on 01865 454274 to arrange a time to visit. You will be most welcome.
You can see a video of a previous Artweeks exhibition at my home and more images of my work by going to my Facebook page www.facebook.com/tampotteryoxford. Samples of my work can also be seen on the Oxfordshire Craft Guild website www.ocg.co.uk
Galleries where my work has been shown include the Wiseman Gallery, Oxford; Bell Fine Art, Winchester; SOTA Gallery, Witney; and Junction Art, Woodstock.
The plan was that glass artist Anna Gillespie would be exhibiting with me this year, but you can still see some of her work on her Artweeks gallery and her website www.anngillespieglass.co.uk
