I'm a member of the Oxford Art Society and Reading Guild of Artists. This year, you can see my work at the RGA Spring Exhibition at the Old Fire Station in Henley from 6th to 16th March, the Oxford Art Society Members show at St John's College in Oxford from 28th March to 17th April, and at Artweeks in Watlington (venue 115) between 2nd and 10th May. There are more examples of my work on my Instagram account: whitehousepapm.
There is some family connection with art as my sister is a potter, my nephew is a silversmith and my father was a sculptor. I trained as a scientist but in 2015, I decided to pursue my interests in art more seriously. After taking life drawing classes in Didcot, I went on to study painting at the Art Academy in London on a part-time basis, graduating in 2018. Since then I have been exhibiting regularly in the area. My paintings are mainly inspired by places, where I am drawn to a striking image or play of light rather than conventional landscape images. Much of my recent work is based on man-made structures like water towers, railways and playgrounds, which provide fruitful ground for the sort of images I enjoy.
