I was delighted to be asked to represent my college at Celebration of Craftsmanship & Design, Cheltenham in 2019, and I had won a place on my own for this year but the event has been postponed until 2021 when I look forward to attending with new work.
Rycotewood's Summer Show (Oxford) and my Bachelor or Arts degree show (London) have both been postponed but will hopefully take place later this year. Please keep in touch using my contact details below it'd be great to see you when they do happen!
This really is an impossible time for new graduates like me, especially in the creative fields, I'd like to thank you for your interest in my work and your support for all of us at Art Weeks.
Craft is in my nature and I could be happy crafting anything, but I have come to love furniture through my study. It’s ability to affect the very space in which we live fascinates me. I take my inspiration from nature and Japanese design aesthetics.
I am a trained designer maker, having studied furniture at Rycotewood in Oxford (2017-2020).
During my degree I worked for several different makers including David Colwell and Jonathan Rose, arguably two of the best designers and makers in the industry. I was thrilled to be one of eight students chosen to attend the prestigious Snowdon Summer School (2019) in association with the Prince's Foundation. The Young Furniture Makers shortlisted my ‘Whiteread’ cabinet for their Bespoke award for which I attended their London exhibition in October 2019.
In the future I hope to design quiet, understated pieces that call out to those curious enough to stop and look. I pursue excellence in making always.
