I paint open spaces, most often seascapes, that make me feel free, joyful and inspired. Spaces where one can relax and escape the busyness and stress of everyday life. Sometimes I think about myself as an “escape artist” ...
Open space makes me feel free. Water centres me and makes me feel anchored, safe and relaxed.
I paint in oils, using the alla prima (wet-on-wet) technique and a variety of palette knives and brushes, creating paintings with bold brushwork and rich texture.
I graduated from Architecture at Wroclaw University of Technology in Poland, where the coursework, beside the design subjects, included a generous amount of art history, drawing, painting and sculpture.
After working as an architect, in Poland and in England, I gradually became more active in the art world and focused on painting.
Since 2014 I've been an active member of the Oxford Art Society.
My paintings can be seen and purchased at the Dolphin Art Gallery in Wantage.
