ART FROM THE HEART - NHS Charity Exhibition, Oxfordshire - Virtual art exhibition to support NHS
Jyoti is an acrylic and resin artist, also exploring different mediums like clay and foam sheets for model making along with transforming objects like candles, mirrors, baubles and ceramic figurines into art pieces.
Her work is inspired by nature, celebration of life and colours. The mood of most of the pieces of art is bright, positive and thought provoking, as Jyoti believes her work should “put a smile on your face”, and share positivity towards life. Many of the pieces are inspired by Indian tradition and culture as these are imbibed into her being of Indian origin.
She brings textures and patterns into her work inspired by her love for henna and uses same technique for intricate lines and designs. The materials used to create texture along with paint and resin are sand, shells, pebbles, feathers, laces, gemstones etc.
She uses different techniques, and these can be absolutely contrasting like abstract, fluid painting, carefully composed details, intricate lines to accentuate the subject, mandala patterns etc.
Canvas and wood panels range from 12x12 cm to 80x60 cm so far. Other art pieces range from 4cm to 6ftx5ft. Functional Chariot created for festival parade is Jyoti’s largest piece of art.
Jyoti believes taking responsibility towards better community and giving the love she has received back to the community. 25% of any art pieces sold always goes to the charities like Maggie’s Centres, Oxford Homeless Movement and Old Age Homes in India. During Coronavirus Crisis, the donations will be partly donated to NHS.
