Artist information

I’ve lived and worked in Chipping Norton for 36 years, taking part in Oxfordshire Artweeks most years since 2000. In 2024, I won the biannual Banbury based Ironstone Art prize for one of my FarmED artworks. I’ve regularly had exhibitions throughout the UK with work  in the National Art collection and abroad.

Exhibition information

I’m currently working on a series of paintings investigating the temperate rainforests and ancient woodlands, here in Oxfordshire and also in N Wales where I have family connections and visit regularly. In 2021/2 I was an artist in residence at FarmED a centre for regenerative farming near where I live in Chipping Norton – exploring the farm and plants through the year. MY work is a reflection on a sense of PLACE and includes walking in remote areas of the UK often featuring islands, coast, mountains and hills. The detail of  seasonal change and biodiversity – especially the particularity of plants, trees, moss and flowers –  are what interest me. The way I work – often in mixed media – develops with the different places I’m painting.
