I originally trained as a teacher at Homerton College, Cambridge with art as my main subject. I had 4 children and then returned to my artwork , studying for a degree at the Mid Warks College of art. Since then I have exhibited widely and taken part in Oxfordshire Artweeks for 20 years. Projects I've been involved with have included one for The National Trust, a revisiting of places painted by Samual Palmer, a residency on Shetland and an exhibition on Pilgrimage.
Walking inspires my work which focuses on landscapes and seasons - wild and remote and closer to home.
Mostly places I know well and return to but also small islands, mountains and coasts which are less familiar.
Light and dark, texture, the alchemy of using different materials. I have become increasingly interested in bookmaking and like the way it can bring a body of work together in an intimate and interesting way.
