My studio is closed at present, but if you'd like to, please ring me.
My work can always be seen in "Antiques and Crafts on High" in the High Street in Oxford. (Closed for covid19) www.antiquesonhigh.co.uk
Should it take place, I will be showing work at "Potfest in the Pens" in October, followed by work in the Oxfordshire Craft Guild Christmas exhibition in Woodstock.
I've been potting for 50 years - mostly functional stoneware.
Coming from South Africa, where I trained and worked as an industrial designer, I came to England to study ceramics at the Royal College of Art and moved to Oxfordshire in the 70's to build my studio and have a family.
I love colour, and formulate glazes, combining them in layers to get richly coloured surfaces, firing to 1300ºC in a gas fired kiln.
I've been teaching for years and enjoy the mix of solitary studio time and time sharing skills with others.
Shape is important, but experimenting with glaze materials and metal oxides, firing at high temperatures, fascinates me and keeps the excitement alive.
