Trained under Alan Caiger Smith at Aldermaston Pottery 1983-1987. Established Cherry Tree Pottery in Headley near Newbury, making and decorating tin glazed earthenware. 1994 moved to America and set up Spindletop Studio. Built a salt kiln and started working with stoneware. Founder member of The Covered Bridge Artisans. 2001 moved back to England and started The Ewelme Pottery in Oxfordshire. Currently working in stoneware and porcelain, specialising in carbon trap shino glazes with rose ash and gold lustre, fired in a gas kiln. Also firing, when possible, anagama kilns - one in Wytham woods under the aegis of Robin Wilson (Oxford University Kilns Project) and one in the Charente in France.
