Recent exhibitions have included two featuring a total of around 60 paintings covering the site of the proposed West Oxfordshire Garden Village; a project designed to capture the essence of local countryside soon to be lost to development. My last exhibition, in November 2019 focused on the rivers, ponds and woodlands within two or three kilometres of where I live.
Following Tom Croft's initiative I am currently painting portraits for NHS heroes. I have already painted the portrait of a doctor at St Bart's and have a senior nurse lined up for the second.
I have lived in Oxfordshire the whole of my adult life and in that time have worked almost exclusively on landscapes and cityscapes in the local area. My lifelong passion has been working in soft pastel but in recent years I have adapted my techniques, becoming more experimental and introducing acrylics (paints and inks), charcoal and oil pastels into my work. More recently I have focused on depicting the interplay of light and shade on water. I have held many solo exhibitions and to date have sold nearly 500 original paintings. I have exhibited in Artweeks since 1990, to date missing only one year!
