Due to the current situation, social distancing, and other restrictions, my Artweeks exhibition has been postponed, and my Etsy shop (ThePotteryCat) is closed to new orders. However, if you contact me either though my Etsy shop page, or at firstname.lastname@example.org, I am very happy to reserve pieces for you for purchase after restrictions have been lifted. I am also happy to consider selling pieces for local delivery or collection; this will be on a case by case basis, again, please contact me directly. Full details of sizes, and further photos, are available, as are other pieces of work - just ask. Finally, you can find me on instagram: @thepotterycat100.
It all started with a pottery cat. I stroked its shape from a hollow ball of clay, so lovely, so relaxing! So I made more, and more, and then other animals, bowls, pots, knitting bowls - I can't stop! I am a mum of two, living in Oxfordshire. My studio is a corner of the garden shed. I have been making ceramics, off and on, since I was a child. Most recently I have been attending classes at Alison Jones' lovely studio 'The Cobb Studio', East Hendred, Oxon. Alison also, kindly, fires a lot of my work for me, since my kiln is tiny. My preferred technique is handbuilding, and I love shaping animals and birds from clay.
I have recently been introduced to the amazing silver clay (PMC), which is a wonderful medium to work with, since it handles like clay, but fires to pure silver. I have added silver pendants and earrings to my portfolio of work.
