My inspiration has always come from nature and I have explored many mediums, from charcoal to watercolour, pastel and printmaking - whatever is required to capture the colours and mood of the subject. Nature-inspired art has always been a common thread in my life.
Having moved around quite a lot, I felt I needed to strengthen my connection to nature and my surroundings in lovely Chipping Norton. So, during lockdown I began painting scenes of the fields and forest near my home in pastel to make a small artist's book called 'From My Viewpoint'. And to deepen my connection further I began to use natural materials in my work, so I began making my own studio inks out of berries and other natural materials. It has been a wonderful project and the seasonal produce, especially in summer and autumn is plentiful! Now I have about 30 lovely inks in a stunning range of colours to capture the Cotswolds and areas I travel to.
My artist's books are available for sale on Etsy via the link below.
