I am currently exploring aspects that in our modern consumer world are often overlooked. I am fascinated by negative spaces and draw from both natural and man-made sources which are reviewed and transformed into a series of stoneware slabbed vessels and sculptures. The decoration is evolved from explorations into impressions on the earth and abandoned man-made environmental surfaces. The clay in parts is scored, impressed and at times broken with a painted finish using under-glaze and glazes to create a painting on a ceramic 3D canvas. Each piece is unique even though forms may be revisited.
