My landscapes are semi-abstract, mainly larger scale pieces where I can make stronger more expansive gestural marks. I do make small stuff but a large painting gives you a more immersive experience and has a powerful presence – it needs flair and confidence to put one into an interior and allow it to fill a room – but the result is an expression not merely of style but personality. I frequently make diptychs and triptychs - breaking the image up into 'frames'. These are usually hung side by side but also work well placed on different walls around a room.
‘… you can get lost in these paintings … composed of a thousand glances … enthusiastic, spontaneous, bold..’ Daniel Graham, Art Aesthetics Magazine, September 2017
