As a Member of the Oxford, Faringdon and Lechlade Art Societies I devote much of my free time to painting and exhibiting. With one or two missed years I’ve been exhibiting in Oxfordshire Artweeks since 1996, though the recent passing of my wife meant that I’ve had no time or desire for painting in the past two years. However, getting back into the swing of things has been wonderfully therapeutic and once more the enjoyment of art is back.
Although I dabble in other topics, landscapes have always been my passion - first in watercolour but now wholly in acrylic. I love walking in the open countryside, admiring both the natural and cultivated beauty together with the subtle lighting effects that the day brings - this is what I try to recapture in my work, inviting the viewer to be there with me.
